I added a few accessories to my LC300. I’ve tried to share what I learnt along the way, hopefully that might help anyone contemplating the same:
- Arranging an Installation Booking:
- ARB dealers often had a LONG waiting period before an installation date was available (Perth dealers had a wait time of between 2 and 7 months!)
- My nearest ARB dealer had a 6-month waitlist, but by travelling 30km to ARB Cockburn I was able to secure an Installation with a six-week wait time
- Being a relatively new vehicle – there was often a shortage/wait time for parts
- I found Brodie Doughty at ARB Cockburn to be particularly helpful (and patient with my endless list of dumb questions!)
- Roof Racks:
- Remember your maximum roof load for an LC300 is only 100kg
Are You Overloading Your Roofrack? - Wind noise needs to be considered when choosing a roof rack
- The low profile of the ARB Baserack was attractive. It only added 2 cm to overall clearance (from 195 to 197cm). This rack comes with a Wind Deflector.
- I added a Rhinorack awning and a Rhinorack Stowit shovel holder, along with a Baserack Recovery Track Bracket
Things You Need To Know Before Buying a Roofrack
- Remember your maximum roof load for an LC300 is only 100kg
- Bull Bar
- Bull bars will add 60 – 90 kg to your Kerb Weight
- The ARB Summit 2 Bar adds approximately 174mm to the overall length of the vehicle
- The weight of the Summit 2 bar, chassis mounts and fitting kit is 99kg. Approximately 15kg is removed from the vehicle for fitment of the bar.
- If you are considering Recovery Points, then it’s best to install them at the same time as your bullbar.
- GME have UHF radios which can be mounted behind your dash, with only the handpiece showing and the handpiece can be unplugged and stowed when not in use
- The ARB Solis lights come with an adjustable brightness switch.
